Our staff are carefully selected during the interview process. Two references are required for consideration of employment. Every applicant is subject to a background review through Criminal Offender Record Information, a division of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security. All newly hired employees are assigned a mentor and supervisor with whom they work closely in the probationary 3 month period. New staff are oriented to each new assignment by an exisiting member of that client’s home care team.
In addition to skills inventory,
our
interview process evaluates core characteristics such as:
- Motivation
- Commitment
- Dependability
- Sensitivity
|
- Innovation
- Respect
- Productivity

We accept applications for employment from a personal referral network within the community. Exceptional caregivers, whose work is of the highest professional standard, tend to know colleagues whose work is also considered outstanding. Our own long term loyal staff are the best referral source for new members of our team. We have never had a need to advertise for staff. We offer our staff compensation above the market demand, treat them with the admiration and respect they are so deserving of, and provide them with the knowledge, tools, support and supervision they need to provide the best possible patient care.
We also have relationships with the following consultants:
- Registered Nutritionists
- Reiki Practitioners
- Massage Therapists
|
- Licensed Acupuncturists
- Licensed Psychologists

Nicole Thompson
Graduate Nurse, CHHA
Nicole Thompson is a graduate nurse who, having received her Associate’s degree in nursing, is preparing for the RN board exams. While working for Aberdeen for the past year, she has gained valuable clinical experience with a wide variety of patients. Nicole says “My work with Aberdeen has brought all that I learned in nursing school into actual clinical practice. I have seen firsthand how quality care affects my patients’ wellbeing. I have gained a whole new perspective on caregiving and the role of the nurse. I am confident that my work with Aberdeen is and will continue to prepare me for my career in nursing. It has taught me as much or more than I learned in school about actually taking care of the patient.“ |
